In a strategic year for Navantia, with the launch of the first F-110 frigate and the start of the third in the series just a week ago, of the five that will be delivered to the Spanish Navy, as well as the launch of the second S-80 submarine, Navantia arrives at FEINDEF focusing on its cutting-edge technology applied to the products and services demanded by the Navies of the future.
On its stand it shows its large systems with the technologies associated with them: anaerobic propulsion AIP system, digital twin, integrated services system, NAVANTIS simulators, etc.
Navantia Systems, the company's technological brainchild, plays a central role in this edition, as a developer and integrator of communications systems with Hermesys, a combat system with Scomba Next Generation, and autonomous vehicle integration with NAIAD, which can be seen during these days at stand D01 in Hall 10.
Furthermore, the USV “Poniente” has been exhibited for the first time, at Navantia's static stand E12a, Hall 4. With improved capabilities compared to its smaller sister, the USV “Vendaval”, which operates in the port of Ceuta, the USV “Poniente” will allow the evolution of techniques for autonomous navigation, through systems for positioning and maneuvering control, global route planning, or obstacle detection and avoidance through AI image processing.
Navantia will also have a prominent presence in the Innova area (Hall 6), where the innovation cell, monodon, will have a stand showcasing its emerging technologies, such as the drone manta. monodon promotes research and experimentation with disruptive technologies and streamlines their implementation within the company. It is Navantia's spearhead for testing, experimenting, and attracting technologies and engaging with the technological and entrepreneurial ecosystem before these new technologies are adopted. It also explores markets adjacent to the sectors in which the company operates and collaborates on various projects.
Thus, its main objective is to articulate a mechanism to increase access to technology, bring innovations to the company in a more agile way, achieve disruptive products in less time and support the national industrial fabric through strategic joint investments with other actors in the innovation ecosystem.
The company's capabilities and its contribution to global naval development will be presented with interesting speeches in the series of conferences hosted by FEINDEF, where it will give three with the following titles: "Navantia, spearhead of innovation", "Technological challenges in the new geostrategic context: new opportunities for research", and "Emerging technologies in geostrategic scenarios".
