The Federación de Industria, Construcción y Agro de la Unión General de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores (UGT FICA) is a state-wide sectoral organisation integrated in the Confederación Sindical de la Unión General de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores de España (UGT), to which we fully subscribe its rules and premises. In UGT FICA we are structured around the following sectors of activity:

• Capital Goods and ICT Sectors
• Construction and Mining Sectors
• Energy and Water Sectors
• Automotive Industry Sector
• Chemicals, Textile and Graphicals Sector
• Iron and Steel Sector

At the territorial level, we are grouped into seventeen Autonomous Community Federations and our organisations in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. We have more than 250,000 affiliates and more than 29,000 delegates, representing more than 5,200,000 workers in our sectors, for which we negotiate 39 national agreements and thousands of company agreements and pacts.

Our main objective is to defend the labour, professional and trade union interests of the workers in our sectors and especially of our affiliates. We defend all the workers in our sectors in any of the conditions in which they find themselves: both salaried and self-employed workers or members of cooperatives and worker-owned companies. We also defend trainees in formal and occupational vocational training, the unemployed and early retirees.

We develop our trade union activity by combining bargaining with mobilisation in a balanced way, making use of social dialogue as a tool for seeking consensus and agreements that benefit the people we represent. Within our objectives, we are committed to a productive model based on Industry in order to guarantee decent jobs with rights, both intrinsically and because of its capacity as a driving force for the rest of the economic sectors.

Our field of action is not limited to business, focusing on social justice, prevention and occupational health, the environment, equality, training, social protection, the fight against job insecurity in all its forms, against discrimination of any kind, for a decent future for young people, for fair pensions for our elders, and so on and so forth.

In UGT FICA we also have a strong internationalist character and are affiliated to industriALL Global Union, industriALL European Trade Union, IUF, EFFAT, BWI, EFBWW, EPSU and UNI.
