INNOVA FOR DEF & SEC

In Spain, the development of innovation and entrepreneurship has been very positive in recent years, although there are still opportunities for the related ecosystem (businesses, entrepreneurs, research and innovation centres,...) to continue to grow both in size and maturity.

As a consequence, the offer of national products and services has increased progressively, and there are increasingly more, better startups that both enrich and expand the existing business sector.

The Defence and Security Industry, in addition to the Armed Forces and State Security Forces, requires continuous adaptation and improvement in terms of their abilities as regards geopolitical changes and the constant evolution of potential risks that can affect the nation of Spain. This reality can only be addressed by way of the development of innovative solutions constructed through R&D&i projects and the enrichment of the business ecosystem as a result of the creation of new startups. In this context, the development of dual-use technologies facilitates strengthening as a company, by way of searching for new solutions in a wide range of areas (scientific, economic and industrial...).

The FEINDEF International Defence and Security Exhibition, organised by the FEINDEF Foundation, will offer a space dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship within the Defence and Security Innova for Def&Sec sector, in its 2023 edition. This initiative aims to achieve the following objectives:

Transform FEINDEF into a national and international benchmark in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship for solutions and dual-use technologies, as well as an annual meeting point for innovative entrepreneurs and businesses interested in the Defence and Security market.

Make Innova for Def&Sec a space for dialogue and meetings that stimulate a research, innovation and entrepreneurial culture, and which facilitates knowledge transfer and offers opportunities.

Enable participants to gain opportunities to widen their network of contacts with other agents who share mutual interests, in order to promote the development of joint actions in the field of research, innovations and entrepreneurship.

To offer an opportunity for startups in the Defence and Security sector to make themselves known to other, more consolidated startups and institutions, offering them the possibility to demonstrate their great imaginative, inventive and innovative spirit.

THE EXHIBITION

FEINDEF will provide unprecedented levels of access to the new European defense market, reinforcing the implementation of initiatives in the fields of: collaborative research, capacity development, promotion of investment in the European defense supply chain and creation of the Single European Defense Market.
