The Spanish company UROVESA participated once again at the FEINDEF exhibition, breaking a record with up to 13 High Mobility Tactical Vehicles (Vehículo de Alta Movilidad Táctico or VAMTAC) displayed at its booth and at the booths of various operators and business projects. Two versions of the ST5 VAMTAC were on display at its booth: one VERT (Vehículo de Exploración y Reconocimiento Terrestre or Ground Exploration and Reconnaissance Vehicle) and another a weapons carrier, both equipped with lightweight remote weapons stations.
The company also actively participated in FEINDEF's program of presentations and roundtable discussions, with keynote addresses from its top executives. For example, Justo Sierra, President and CEO, participated in the roundtable "Employment. Challenges and Opportunities in the New Investment Cycle," while Beatriz Arribas, Program Director, participated in "Investment in Defense as a Driver of Technological Innovation and Industrial Development," and Raúl Lodos, Director of Aftersales-Integrated Logistics Support, participated in "AI in the Value Chain: Advanced Logistics and the Future of Military Sustainment."
The company recently announced a major investment plan to address the significant demand. This includes expanding its manufacturing facilities in Valga from the current 60,000 to almost 160,000. This will allow it to double production capacity to 5,000 units per year, creating 150 direct jobs and another 600 in the auxiliary industry. This will have an impact on Galicia, where the company is based, but also on suppliers in regions such as Asturias, the Basque Country, Aragon, and Madrid.
