SMS was established in 2021 with the aim of consolidating the existing relevant capabilities and assets within the Defence Industrial and Technological Base in Spain (BITD) in the field of missile systems and other high-performance guided munitions. Currently, SMS is already a solid company, owned by three of the main actors in the Defence Technology sector in Spain (SENER AEROESPACIAL, GMV and ESCRIBANO M&E).

SMS's mission is to contribute to improving the autonomy and strategic sovereignty of the Spanish Armed Forces by merging national technological and industrial capabilities in missile systems through projects within and beyond our borders, comprising the development of innovative solutions as well as life-cycle support for legacy weapon systems.
