Applus+ Laboratories is a strategic testing and certification partner for the aerospace and defense industry. Our main headquarters located in Spain, but we also boast with a global network of multi-technological laboratories, specialized in materials, structures, EMC, environmental and cybersecurity testing.

We support our clients in their electrification strategies supplying testing solutions for electric power drives, batteries (RTCA DO-311), and components (RTCA DO-160, MIL and DEF STAND), including high voltage systems.

We are accredited by the Spanish Centro Criptológico Nacional as a cybersecurity lab, and provide support to developers and vendors to include their products into the Spanish Catalogue CPSTIC.

Our mechanical laboratories in Spain and Germany are a European benchmark for ASD and have been involved in the main aircraft and helicopter programs, from materials and components testing up to full-scale aircrafts.

Our engineering teams develop turnkey test rigs, test benches and test systems. We combine our multidisciplinary engineering capabilities with our unique testing expertise to manage highly-complex, custom projects

Electrical and Electronic Equipment:

• EMC, electrical, radio, environmental, vibration and fire testing: RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DEF STAN 00-35 y DEF STAN 59-411.
• Large facilities for components and vehicles: Full-vehicle EMC chambers (up to 5m wide x 5 m high, and 50 tones), shakers up to 200 kN vibration, multi-axial test systems (MAST) and walk-in climatic chambers.
• Specific equipment and know-how for electric power drives, HV systems and batteries testing (RTCA DO-311).

Cybersecurity

• Accredited labs for cybersecurity evaluations (Common Criteria, Lince, SOG-IS) by the Spanish OC-CCN (Centro Criptológico Nacional).
• Guidance to form part of the Spanish CPSTIC Catalog as ´Qualified Products´ or 'Approved Products'
• Pentest and vulnerability assessment experts for hardware, software and communication cyberattacks, with special expertise in cryptographic evaluations.

Materials, Components, and Structures:

• Materials testing for composites, metals, polymers & coatings. Accredited labs for aerospace and defense programs.
• Components and structures testing, from elements to full-scale testing of complete aircrafts. Large and versatile facilities in Spain and Germany. In-house development of test rigs and tooling.

Ad-hoc engineering of test solutions combining mechanical, hydraulic, software, automation, robotics, NDT and metrology capabilities:

• Test rigs for mechanical and durability testing on components.
• Test benches for all types of applications, including power train components and other rotary applications
• Test systems to control and command electronic components during functional tests, including hardware-in-the-loop systems.
